Introduction

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated cytoplasmic carrier protein (NGAL) test kit
Fluorescence immunochromatography

NGAL is a sensitive marker of acute kidney injury (AKI). In normal kidney tissue, NGAL is expressed at a low level. When exposed to nephrotoxic substances or ischemic injury, a large amount of NGAL will accumulate in the cortical renal tubule, blood, and urine. NGAL was detected in the serum, which was significantly earlier than the changes of urine N-acetyl-ß-glucosidase (neutrophil gelatinase) and blood creatinine (Scr). Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is important for early diagnosis of AKI caused by kidney transplantation, renal ischemia and nephrotoxicity.

FAQ

Q: How does POCT differ from central laboratory testing?

A: POCT prioritizes speed and convenience for immediate clinical needs, while central laboratory testing focuses on ultra-high precision for complex or batch testing. Compliant POCT products meet international standards (e.g., CLIA-waived, CE-IVD) and are complementary to, rather than a replacement for, central laboratory testing.

Q: What is the shelf life of POCT kits, and how to store them properly?

A: The shelf life is 18-24 months from the production date (see product label for details) when stored unopened at 2-30℃, away from sunlight and moisture. Once opened, the kit must be used within 1 hour, and leftover reagents cannot be reused.
