Myoglobin (Myo) is the earliest abnormally increased myocardial protein marker after myocardial injury. It is mainly found in myocardium and skeletal muscle. Myoglobin is released into the blood when skeletal and myocardial damage, excessive exercise and muscle disease. Therefore, the concentration of myoglobin in the blood can effectively monitor acute myocardial infarction (AMI). It can also be used as an indicator of coronary recanalization in thrombolytic therapy, which is the earliest and most sensitive indicator for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
