Introduction
Fluorescence immunochromatography
PG level in serum reflects the morphology and function of different parts of the gastric mucosa. PGI is an indication for the detection of the function of gastric acid secretion gland cells. Increased gastric acid secretion causes the PGI level to increase, decreased secretion or atrophyed gastric mucosal gland causes PGI level to decrease; PGⅡ is more related with gastric fundus mucosal lesions(compared to the gastric antral mucosa), and its increased level is related with gastric fundus gland atrophy, intestinal metaplasia or pseudopyloric metaplasia and dysplasia; the progressive decrease in PGR is related with the progression of gastric mucosal atrophy. Therefore, the combined detection of PGI and PGⅠ/PGⅡ ratio (PGR) can be used
as "serological biopsy" for gatric fundus gland mucosa

FAQ
Q: What is the main purpose of this POCT PGI/PGII assay kit?
A: It is used for the in vitro quantitative detection of pepsinogen I (PGI) and pepsinogen II (PGII) in human serum, plasma or whole blood. It can assist in evaluating the function of gastric oxyntic gland cells, screening for gastric mucosal atrophy, and provide reference for the preliminary screening of gastric cancer, as well as for monitoring the curative effect of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy.
Q: Can the positive result of this kit directly confirm gastric cancer?
A: No. PGI and PGII are not specific markers for gastric cancer. Diseases such as chronic atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcer and Helicobacter pylori infection can also cause abnormal changes in PGI and PGII indicators. The test result is only for auxiliary reference. If abnormalities are found, further examinations such as gastroscopy and pathological biopsy are needed to confirm the diagnosis.
